This is the second exhibition of the project 'Soave Impressions of Art', curated by art historian Roberta Tosi, in which the internationally renowned artist Omar Galliani exhibits some of his works and presents his site-specific installation "Open Your Eyes".
The works of Omar Galliani, known for his unmistakable style that combines classical rigor and contemporary sensitivity, are often created on panel with graphite, gold, and natural pigments, exploring the human face, intimacy, and time with an almost mystical depth. His poetics, suspended between drawing and painting, tradition and innovation, will interact with the space and the audience in Soave, promising an exciting new chapter for the exhibition project.
The exhibition draws inspiration from the figure of Saint Lucy and is created in harmony with the frescoes of the 15th-century Church of Santa Maria dei Padri Domenicani, which preserves visible and well-conserved frescoes of Saint Lucy and Saint Apollonia. The work of Master Galliani will come to life in its encounter with a pictorial fragment depicting the eyes of Saint Lucy, creating a singular reflection where past, present, and future access each other with "different eyes," eyes also evoked in the title, that open to beauty, art, and life.
Alongside the main work, other 15 creations of Master Galliani will be exhibited.
