A double appointment with great music for violin and piano, presented in two distinct programs: the soirée on Friday, August 28th and the matinée on Sunday, August 30th.
Matthew Hakkarainen, an American violinist who was with us in Asolo as the first prize winner of the Rodolfo Lipizer International Competition, edition 2018, has continued in his brilliant international solo career and is currently the Concertmaster of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
Marcin Sikorski, a renowned Polish pianist and chamber musician, is an Associate Professor of Chamber Music at the Bydgoszcz Musical Academy (Poland) and regularly collaborates with the Conservatory of Music in Beijing (China).
On the program for the evening of Friday, August 28th, is the D. 574 "Grand Duo" Sonata by Franz Schubert, Mythes op. 30 by Karol Szymanowski, and I Palpiti by Niccolò Paganini.
Completely different atmospheres in the morning concert on Sunday, August 30th, where the two musicians will perform the Sonata for violin and piano by Claude Debussy, the Sonata for violin and piano by Leoš Janáček, Berceuse op. 79 and Humoresque op. 89 no. 4 by Jean Sibelius, concluding with Introduction et Rondò Capriccioso by Camille Saint-Saëns.
