The Orchestra and Choir of Fondazione Arena di Verona invite the public to the wonderful setting of the Teatro Filarmonico to celebrate together the New Year’s Eve vigil 2026.
The extensive Christmas-inspired program is conducted by Maestro Francesco Ommassini with the participation of soprano Nina Minasyan, while the Choir is conducted by Maestro Roberto Gabbiani.
The program ranges from spectacular orchestral pieces such as The Nutcracker, the quintessential Christmas classic, to a rich and unprecedented anthology of small and great Viennese masterpieces.
A compilation that intertwines the legacy of Johann Strauss II, the king of waltz whose 200th anniversary is celebrated, and the gilded world of his contemporaries. In Verona, a gallant and brilliant Vienna will resonate, honored by the choral waltzes of his friend Brahms (performed in his own, very rare orchestration) and culminating in the operetta The Bat.
To seal the concert, the famous Blue Danube in its original version for choir.
What better way to welcome the coming year than an evening dedicated to great music?
