Among the majestic peaks of the Dolomites, in a setting of extraordinary beauty, the Averau Refuge hosts an event that brings together literature, memory and passion for the mountains.
On Sunday, July 12, at 10.00 a.m., Erri De Luca will present Discourse for a Friend, an intense and profoundly human book born from the desire to pay tribute to Diego Zanesco, a respected mountain guide and beloved figure among those who shared with him trails, walls, and the silence of high altitudes.
In dialogue with journalist Francesco Chiamulera, the author will take the audience into a story of authentic friendship, where memory transforms into narrative and the mountain becomes a meeting place between people and their lives. The words spoken at Diego's funeral expand into a work capable of moving, enriched by the private notebooks of his climbs, entrusted to De Luca by the widow of the deceased.
To make the experience even more enchanting, there will be a musical interlude by the Na Fuoia group, with a string accompaniment that will ideally dialogue with the landscape and the emotions of the narration.
On the panoramic terrace of the Averau Refuge, suspended between sky and rock, participants will experience a unique meeting dedicated to the value of memory, friendship, and love for the mountains. A special occasion to listen to one of the most authoritative voices of contemporary literature and be swept up in a story that speaks to everyone, in the heart of the Dolomites.
