For over half a century, the Fiera del Riso has been the most famous gastronomic event in Italy dedicated to rice and risotto, a symbol of tradition, taste and conviviality. Born in Isola della Scala, a few kilometers from Verona, this great festival attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over Italy and abroad every year.
Risotto, one of the most beloved dishes of Italian cuisine, offered in over fifty versions, from the most classic to the most creative. It is cooked by Master Risotto Chefs and Chefs from all over Italy and even abroad: authentic ambassadors of taste, capable of transforming every dish into an unforgettable experience.
The undisputed star is Riso Nano Vialone Veronese PGI, the first in Europe to obtain the trademark in 1996. Grown in 24 municipalities of Verona, it has pearly grains, firm and rich in starch: perfect for creamy and tasty risottos. Symbol of the territory, it is protected by a rigorous specification that guarantees its quality and origin.
But the Rice Fair is much more than a gastronomic event: it is entertainment, culture, sport and tradition. Parades in period costumes, concerts, shows for adults and children, sporting competitions and themed meetings enliven the 24 days of celebration.
Also not to be missed is the large sample fair, one of the most visited in Northern Italy, with over 100 exhibitors from various Italian and international regions.
