The exhibition pays tribute to Joseph Kosuth, a pioneer of Conceptual art with strong ties to Venice, presenting a selection of seminal works alongside a newly commissioned neon installation.

The title reflects on the diminished value of language in today’s media-saturated context. By reactivating his own works, Kosuth challenges the idea of fixed meanings, proposing instead that meaning is contingent and shaped by context—echoing the philosophy of Ludwig Wittgenstein.

The exhibition opens with the site-specific installation A Chain of Resemblance, based on a text by Michel Foucault, and continues with key works from the 1960s and 1970s, where meaning emerges through the relationship between image, object, and language. It also includes pieces from the celebrated Investigations and projects addressing authorship, spectatorship, and public space.

Through installations, texts, and interventions, Kosuth reaffirms language as the central medium of his practice, offering a reflection on the nature of art and meaning that remains highly relevant today.
