On Friday, June 5th, Cortina d’Ampezzo transforms into a journey of emotions, beauty, and meeting. On the occasion of the 11th edition of the Long Night of Churches, the Queen of the Dolomites opens the doors to its most picturesque places for a unique evening, where faith, culture, and art intertwine under the sky of the UNESCO mountains.
Inspired by the theme “Francis, go and repair my house”, the event invites people to rediscover the most authentic meaning of dwelling: not just a physical space, but a vibrant, welcoming community capable of creating bonds. Churches, chapels, and small treasures of faith will become stops along an evening path accompanied by live music, reflections, artworks, and stories dedicated to the figure of Saint Francis.
The journey will begin at the Church of the Blessed Virgin of Defense and will traverse some of the most fascinating places in the area, including the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, the Holy Trinity, the Madonna della Salute in Cadin, the chapel of Saint Dominic, and the Church of Saint Francis. At each stop, choirs, ensembles, winds, saxophones and voices will accompany the audience in an engaging and immersive experience.
Amid the lights of the evening and the silence of the Dolomites, Cortina will offer a night to be lived slowly, letting oneself be guided by music, art, and wonder. An event open to all to discover the spiritual and cultural heritage of the territory through a new lens.
