Descrizione lunga

From October 21 to 25, 2026, Verona will host the third edition of “Social Poets,” the annual event that brings together diverse people, languages, and places to collectively seek peace and justice.

Opening the actual review on Wednesday, October 21 at the Palazzo Scaligero, there will be an interreligious prayer with representatives from the institutions and religions present in the Verona area; at 8:45 p.m. in the Church of San Bernardino, there will be a dialogue between journalist Ezio Mauro and sociologist Mauro Magatti on the theme “Saving Humanity in the Age of Ai. The Provocation of Pope Leo.”

This edition will also feature guests such as Shahrzad Houshmand, an Iranian theologian; former Constitutional Court judge and minister Marta Cartabia in dialogue with Claudia Mazzucato on law, cultural processes, and restorative justice; Father Renato Kizito Sesana; Don Luigi Verdi and monk Luciano Manicardi for morning meditations in the Basilica of San Zeno; Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco; Monika Bulaj with her travel-show; Don Paolo Alliata with the reading and commentary of Babette's Feast.

There are three paid events, each costing 10 euros, which will take place at Gran Guardia: on Thursday, October 22 at 8:30 p.m. Giacomo Poretti and Daniela Cristofori with the show Condominio Mon Amour; on Sunday, October 25 Ippolita Baldini with A Ballad for Chiara (at 3:00 p.m.) and Alessandro Bergonzoni, who will conclude the series with the special monologue Shall We Return to Being Human? Shall We Become Superhuman? (at 7:00 p.m.). Throughout the duration of the event, two exhibitions will be set up in the loggia of Gran Guardia: “Called Twice: The Martyrs of Algeria” and “...But I Am Alive. Voices from Ukraine,” both with free admission.

An invitation to everyone to rediscover the courage to engage in the care of humanity and to build 'itineraries of peace’ in search of places for meeting and dialogue, in order to weave lasting bonds.”
