Still lifes, domestic interiors, urban landscapes, and popular figures come to life in a selection of emblematic works, including Fork, glass, and tongs, The great laundress, Interior with stove, Demijohn and houses, and Newsstand, testimonies of a painting language in continuous transformation, influenced by Picasso, Courbet, and Van Gogh but always profoundly original.
