The Historic Museum of the Great War 1915-1918 offers an immersive journey through objects and testimonies of daily life at the front.
The collection, consisting of about a thousand artifacts, tells the story of soldiers' experiences during the First World War through four thematic sections: rations, field hospitals, leisure time, and trenches. The heart of the collection is the donation from collector Bruno Xamin, who provided the municipality with a wide range of original materials: tools, equipment, medical instruments, and everyday objects, which paint a vivid picture of the war experienced by the combatants.
In recent years, the museum has been enriched by a new room dedicated to the recently discovered events of Dr. Andrea Marro, Major Medical Officer of the Italian Red Cross, who during the conflict at Grappa devised a complete surgical service at the front line to provide immediate first aid to the wounded and, once operated on, to assist their recovery in the rear areas of the foothills.
