Can architecture be poetry?
Special guided tour with architectural historian J.K. Mauro Pierconti.
The Brion Memorial represents the work that Scarpa himself loved to visit, and while doing so, as during a visit with some Austrian students, he would talk about life and death quoting poetry and writers. “Can architecture be poetry?”: this is what Carlo Scarpa asks in his famous conference in Vienna in 1976. And he answers himself: “Only sometimes… poetry arises from things themselves.” In other words, when it manages to express the deep essence of reality. And this is what thousands of visitors discover every year at the Brion Memorial
