The 40th edition of the Giostra della Rocca, an extraordinary medieval reenactment event, will bring Monselice back to the turbulent and extraordinary period when Emperor Frederick II of Swabia, the Stupor Mundi, passed through the city.
To inaugurate the event, on Friday September 12, the Medieval Banquet will take place in Mazzini square.
On Saturday September 13, there will be the competition for historical archery and the relay race, and on Sunday September 14, it will be the day dedicated to the Grand Chess Tournament, the Grinding Stones Competition at the medieval market, reenacting ancient activities and craft shops.
On Tuesday September 16, the final of the Grand Chess Tournament will be held in Mazzini Square with a living chessboard. Meanwhile, on Thursday September 18, the groups of musicians and drummers will compete in the spectacular choreographed musical Tenzone.
Grand finale on Sunday September 21 with the grand Historical Parade featuring over 2000 participants in medieval costume, and in the afternoon, the 9 Contrade will compete in the breathtaking Quintana on horseback..
