The 41st edition of the Giostra della Rocca, an extraordinary medieval reenactment event, will bring Monselice back to the turbulent and extraordinary period when Emperor Frederick II of Swabia, the Stupor Mundi, visited the town.
To inaugurate the event, on Friday September 11, the Medieval Banquet will take place in Mazzini square.
Following this, on Saturday September 12 there will be a competition for archers, and on Sunday, September 13 there will be a day dedicated to the Gara delle Macine, the Corsa dei Messaggeri and "Living the Castle", a reenactment of medieval activities and artisan workshops in the gardens of the castle.
On Monday September 14, the final of the Grand Chess Tournament will be held in Piazza Mazzini with a living chessboard. While on Thursday, September 17, the groups of musicians and drummers will challenge each other in the spectacular Choreographic Musical Tenzone.
Grand finale on Sunday, September 20 with the magnificent Historical Parade featuring the participation of over 2000 performers in medieval costumes, and in the afternoon, the 9 Contrade will compete in the breathtaking Quintana on horseback.
