In the footsteps of St. Anthony
The Way of St. Anthony is an experience that combines faith, history and landscape, following the places linked to the life and devotion of the Saint.
The route starts in Gemona del Friuli, home to the oldest Antonian sanctuary in the world, and ends at the Franciscan Sanctuary of La Verna in the province of Arezzo, passing through Vittorio Veneto, Susegana, Volpago, Asolo, Camposampiero and Padua, the spiritual heart of the journey and guardian of the Basilica del Santo, before continuing on to Monselice, Rovigo and Polesella. An itinerary designed to be experienced on foot – and partly also by bicycle – at a slow and conscious pace, among hills, waterways, secondary roads and historic centres that become an integral part of the experience.
Among the most significant features, the Last Way of St. Anthony, which connects the Antonian Shrines of Camposampiero to the Basilica of the Saint, symbolically traces its last days, offering an intense and concentrated experience. It is also suitable for those who wish to undertake only part of the route, also accessible by wheelchair.
The Way of St. Anthony is an invitation to walk carefully, letting steps, places and silence guide the journey.
