A hilly landscape to explore, just a few steps from Vicenza: the Berici Hills are full of surprises.
The Alta Via of Berici is a trail designed to enhance all the cultural, naturalistic, landscape and food and wine riches of this beautiful hill country. The path crosses a territory rich in historical testimonies: from the elegant villas of the early Renaissance to the cave-set dwellings, from capitals and dovecote towers to castles and ruins, hermitages and coves, churches and ancient medieval villages. Each step tells a story, each corner reveals a detail of a past that still lives in the present.
The territory of the Berici Hills is also a Site of Community Importance (SCI), characterised by a dense network of intertwining nature trails. Here you will be captivated by expansive views of the plain and surrounding valleys, in close contact with a rich and protected nature.
To recharge your batteries along the way, make sure to schedule a food and wine stop, with the DOC wines of local vineyards and a wide range of typical agri-food producs to savour in the historic trattorias that preserve and celebrate the traditions of the territory.
