Ampelio Zappalorto brings his Total Art that upends consumption in the wonderful setting of Villa Brandolini. Experience an artistic journey that goes beyond the boundaries of the conventional: Ampelio Zappalorto presents his exhibition "Untitled" curated by Federico di Porcia and Brugnera, to guide you along a path that dismantles categories and invites you to reconsider the boundary between art and life.
Born in Vittorio Veneto in 1956, Ampelio graduated in Venice and then immersed himself in post-Wall Berlin (1984-1995), a crossroads of cultural ferment and bold artistic collaborations. There, he matures his radical vision: inspired by the ideal of Fluxus and particularly by the master Joseph Beuys, Zappalorto transforms life itself into a work of art, chasing the concept of Gesamtkunstwerk, the total work of art. For him, the creative act knows no bounds of style or medium. That’s why his exploration extends from photography to video, from sound to performance, encompassing ready-made, sculpture, and installation. Zappalorto creates with everything, challenging the constraint of "what" to focus on "how" and "why."
His work is a powerful reflection on modern society, where "everything is used and thrown away, everything becomes a consumer product." The artist recovers, reuses, and reinterprets, giving new life and meaning to what our culture discards.
