A beautiful artistic project born from the idea of Elisa Giuliani and Ilaria Parini: Edicò a unique opportunity to revive the historical memory of this urban space, involving artists and the community.
The newsstands have been and continue to be the beating heart of the city, meeting points between stories and people. Seeing them close one after the other has made us long for the good times we spent there, from an afternoon with grandma buying stickers to a Sunday morning picking up the newspaper for dad.
This project arises precisely from the need to transform the newsstand into an artistic hub: a space where art takes ownership of a place and engages in dialogue with it.
Being both art historians, we decided to set up an art exhibition lasting 4 months (from September 2025 to December 2025) inside the newsstand in Vicolo San Rocco.
Each month will be dedicated to a different curatorial project: September features the theme of communication, October focuses on photography, November will center on the geography of places and borders, and December will propose a marketplace with artistic works and objects in time for the holiday season.
ART EXHIBITION
The core of this project consists of displaying works by artists and illustrators who reinterpret the newsstand through their own media.
ARTISTIC WORKSHOPS
To animate the artistic hub, workshops related to the theme of communication are organized by professionals. Some examples include: creating a bookmark; designing a fictional newspaper cover; slam poetry; creating fanzines; etc.
MEETINGS WITH ARTISTS
Periodic meetings will be organized with guest artists at Edicò Talk, allowing citizens to interact with them and learn the stories behind their works.
PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST
Involve citizens in a photography contest aimed at representing the newsstand through their own eyes.
