On stage, love songs written by men intertwine, melodies that evoke passion, desire, and dreams. But this music is accompanied by readings of famous novels written by women, telling stories of violence endured, female voices that resist and denounce.
The jazz, with its evocative power and freedom of expression, weaves a fabric made of shadows and lights, on one side the sweetness of a promise, on the other the bitterness of a wound.
Every word opens a breach between love and its opposite, between the promise of happiness and the memory of pain. “You told me, my love” is an invitation to listen and reflect, to allow oneself to be moved and questioned. An opportunity to give voice to those who have loved, to those who have suffered, and to those who continue to fight, with music and words, building a space of truth and rebirth so that no voice remains unheard.
The show is part of events dedicated to raising awareness against violence towards women. The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Venice and the Anti-Violence Center. Malika Fé (voice) – Lello Gnesutta (electric bass) – Dario Zennaro (guitar) – Ilona Gault (narrating voice).
