Once again this year, Murano Illuminates the World, the exhibition project in its third edition, transforms Piazza San Marco in Venice into an open-air gallery. The initiative is promoted and organized by the Municipality of Venice and The Venice Glass Week, with the financial support of the Chamber of Commerce of Venice Rovigo, through the Special Agency Opportunities and Markets.
Twelve internationally renowned artists and designers have been invited to reinterpret the iconic chandelier, transforming it into a site-specific work created with the most prestigious Murano glassworks. Murano Illuminates the World aims to continue celebrating the glassmaking tradition of the island, reaffirming it as a hub of contemporary experimentation.
Throughout the winter period, from November 21, 2025, to March 1, 2026, it will be possible to admire twelve splendid chandeliers that will light up as night falls, the result of collaboration with twelve of the most prestigious Murano glass workshops, which have shared their expertise between tradition and experimentation.
For this edition, the collaborations between artists and glassworks are: Irene Cattaneo with Amadi, Luca Nichetto with Barovier&Toso, Simone Crestani and Joana Vasconcelos with Berengo Studio, Ru Xiao Fan with Effetre and Seguso Gianni, Christian Pellizzari with Salviati, F. Taylor Colantonio with Signoretto Lampadari in collaboration with Salvadore, Michela Cattai with Simone Cenedese, Massimo Micheluzzi with Vetreria Anfora, Lucio Bubacco with Vetreria 3 Artistico Lampadari, Chahan Minassian with Nicola Moretti Murano and Eros Raffael with the Abate Zanetti School.
