Christmas in Cittadella is always a celebration of lights, events, and treats.
You will find a magical Christmas atmosphere throughout the historical center, a Large Christmas Tree in Piazza Pierobon, an ice skating rink open every day, a miniature train for children, and themed shops for Christmas shopping.
Every weekend and holiday (except December 25), cultural sites are open for visits: The Walls of Cittadella (open every day), the Teatro Sociale, Palazzo Pretorio, the Cathedral Museum, and the Oratory of the Savior. The opening hours of each monument are available on our website.
An unmissable exhibition of handcrafted Nativity scenes created by enthusiasts and students from local schools is held at the Church of Torresino.
Santa Claus awaits all the children in his house in Piazza Scalco.
In the bars and pastry shops of the center, you can enjoy typical Christmas drinks such as Mulled Wine and Hot Chocolate with whipped cream.
We invite you to visit Cittadella, a beautiful walled city of medieval origin located a few kilometers from important artistic centers such as Padua, Vicenza, Treviso, and part of the larger historical context of other walled cities in Veneto such as Bassano del Grappa, Marostica, Asolo, and Castelfranco Veneto. The foundation of the town dates back to 1220, when the municipality of Padua decided to create a fortified place from scratch in the central area of the Veneto plain to protect the border areas of its territory against the cities of Treviso and Vicenza. Cittadella is the only walled city in Europe with a medieval walking path, elliptical in shape, fully accessible.
