Rovigo is preparing to host an event of great symbolic and sporting value: the passage of the Olympic Flame, scheduled for Tuesday, January 20th.
The Municipality of Rovigo has been chosen as the "Passing Municipality" for the 44th stage of the journey of the Olympic Flame, which will take place on Tuesday, January 20th from 1:15 PM to around 2:00 PM, with torchbearers gathering at the Swimming Pool and departure from Viale Porta Po.
The passage represents a moment of pride for the entire Rodigina community and an opportunity to celebrate sport as a tool for social and educational growth.
THE EVENT WAITING FOR THE PASSAGE
Rovigo is preparing to experience a moment of great emotion and symbolic value, and on Tuesday, January 20th, in anticipation of the passage of the Olympic flame, the municipal administration has organized an event in Piazza Matteotti.
Starting at 12:45 PM, there will be greetings from the authorities and, following this, testimonials on the values of the Olympics and sport with Matteo Moscardi (representing Rugby Rovigo Delta), Laura Foralosso (athlete from the Moscow 1980 Olympic Games), and Elena Roversi (European karate champion).
The presentation will be conducted by Paolo De Grandis in collaboration with Delta Radio, and to further enhance the moment, there will also be participation from the Children's Choir of the Teatro Sociale di Rovigo. A wonderful opportunity to live the Olympic spirit together and strengthen the sense of community.
THE ROUTE
The Olympic Flame procession will start at 1:15 PM from Viale Porta Po 141, proceeding along Corso del Popolo, Largo Martiri, Via Dante Alighieri, Viale della Pace, Viale Tre Martiri, to conclude around 2:00 PM in front of the Police Headquarters.
The route will be closed to traffic. Corso del Popolo will be closed from noon. Additionally, there will be parking bans along Corso del Popolo and Via Petrarca to allow for two-way traffic for buses. The city's schools of all levels will be closed from 11:30 AM on Tuesday, January 20th.
