The Mastio di Ezzelino is part of the museum complex of Castel San Zeno, and is the tallest and oldest watchtower of the walled village of Montagnana, as well as the defensive heart of the entire castle.
Generally, visitors can climb it independently to admire the internal structure and enjoy the panoramic view, but on the last Sunday of every month, a museum operator will be available for a special tour, step by step highlighting the history, the architectural features specifically designed for military defense, and all the curiosities of the imposing tower built in 1242 by Ezzelino III da Romano.
At the end of the guided tour, visitors will reach the highest point of Montagnana, admiring the fortified town, the lush countryside surrounding it, and the Euganean and Berici Hills on the horizon, from nearly 40 meters high.
Reservation is recommended as the number of available places is limited.
