Descrizione lunga
An extraordinary exhibition is coming to the Altinate San Gaetano Cultural Center in Padua that showcases the work of an artist capable of transforming geometry and mathematics into pure art.
A not-to-be-missed event, designed for adults and children, art and science enthusiasts, to discover the unique work of one of the most fascinating geniuses of the twentieth century.
Curated by Federico Giudiceandrea, one of the leading collectors and world experts on Escher, the exhibition guides visitors into the imaginative and surprising universe of this extraordinary Dutch artist.
Born in 1898 in the Netherlands, M.C. Escher managed to fuse art and mathematics into a distinctive visual language, capable of challenging perception and captivating entire generations. Famous for his impossible visions, visual paradoxes, and infinite geometries, Escher has become an icon over time not only for mathematicians and scholars but also for the general public, who are enchanted by the visual and conceptual power of his works.
His creations represent an extraordinary meeting point between scientific thought and artistic imagination, profoundly influencing fields such as design, graphics, cinema, advertising, fashion, and music.
The exhibition, with the patronage of the Embassy and Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, promoted by the Municipality of Padua, is produced and organized by Arthemisia in collaboration with the M.C. Escher Foundation, the M.C. Escher Heritage, and Maurits.
