Included in the widespread exhibition organized by the Veneto Memorial of the Great War MEVE in Montebelluna (TV) titled "Communicating in War," the exhibition "More the Pen than the Sword - Rescripta Manent" has been extended.
The exhibition consists of hundreds of relics, some of which are of extraordinary importance. It ranges from writing instruments (from quills to nibs, from inkwells to fountain pens and typewriters) to epistolary documents sent by soldiers to families during the Great War, as well as letters received from parents or fiancées communicating horrific news such as the death of a relative at the front.
There will also be objects and documents belonging to nationally recognized personalities, letters from Silvio Pellico, Gabriele D’Annunzio, poems written by Garibaldian Vicentini, love letters, letters of ideals, diaries and albums, and there will also be discussions about calligraphy and the importance of this particular art in schools.
