When the snow melts, Arabba transforms from a winter skiing paradise into a true cycling resort, where cycling enthusiasts find the ideal terrain to test themselves on some of the most challenging climbs in the Dolomites.
In fact, the bicycle is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere of these valleys: the beauty of the landscapes, combined with specialist accommodation tailored to cyclists, guarantees a fulfilling and exciting stay. Arabba is the starting and finishing point for numerous bike tours suitable for everyone.
Don’t miss the Giro dei Quattro Passi around the Sella Group, an exciting cycling route that can be tackled in either a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. Stretching for around 51 km, it crosses four Dolomite passes that have shaped the history of the Giro d’Italia (Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella and Gardena) and is the setting for numerous events, including the famous Maratona dles Dolomites, the Dolomiti Bike Day and the Sellaronda Bike Day.
Once you’ve crossed the Campolongo Pass, the Val Badia opens up before you, with gentle ups and downs all the way to Corvara before tackling the Gardena Pass, which is beautifully winding in just the right way. The fast descent to Pian de Gralba is spectacular, as is the steep 7 km climb leading to the Sella Pass.
Finally, the highest pass, Passo Pordoi, winds its way through the gentle grassy slopes between Sasso Pordoi and Sàs Bécé, before the tour concludes once again in Arabba.
