A journey through centuries of medieval history, born from the flight forced upon one of the most fascinating figures of medieval Europe, the Empress Adelaide of Burgundy, a route that transforms Veneto into a sequence of places linked to her life.
From Pomposa Abbey, immersed among the watery landscape of the Po Delta, the route winds along embankments and fields, slowly heading inland. The landscape changes rhythm in the Euganean Hills and the Berici Hills, where the woods, vineyards and villages create a more intimate dimension, made up of parish churches, hermitages and religious sites that recall the spiritual character of the route. Along the way there are also symbolic places from her life, such as the Scaligero Castle of Soave, linked to the events of her persecutor, which add narrative depth to the journey.
Continuing westward, the landscape opens onto the hills of Valpolicella, among rows of vines and ancient hamlets, before descending to the shores of Lake Garda. It is a long and complex route, but never monotonous: it continuously changes rhythm and scenery, alternating nature, architecture and material culture, with a strong presence of local traditions and food and wine products.
