In the year of the Venice Biennale, Ca' Pesaro turns to contemporary voices with a large exhibition dedicated to Jenny Saville, one of the most important painters of our time. This is the first major exhibition of the artist in Venice and revisits her career from her beginnings in the 1990s to the present day.
The exhibition features over thirty paintings and drawings, including key works from her production. Saville's practice is deeply rooted in the history of painting, and her monumental canvases create a direct dialogue with the great masters present in Venice, establishing a meeting point between contemporary art and the historical heritage of the city.
Particular emphasis is placed on her connection to the Italian and Venetian painting tradition. The final room hosts an unprecedented cycle of works created as a tribute to Venice for Ca' Pesaro. The exhibition thus presents itself as a celebration of painting and a tribute to the lagoon city, confirming its role as a vibrant center of cultural innovation.
