Descrizione breve
The adrenaline-fueled and unsettling masterpiece by Gabriela Carrizo and Franck Chartier.
Descrizione lunga

For the Dance section of the Summer Theatre of Verona, the artists of the Belgian company Peeping Tom perform in the evocative setting of the Roman Theatre with “Diptych,” the both disturbing and fascinating show that combines two of their works: “The Missing Door” and “The Lost Room.”

Founded in 2000 by Gabriela Carrizo and Franck Chartier, the dance and theatre company Peeping Tom is considered one of the most visionary and innovative on the international scene, with a repertoire of performances characterized by hyperrealistic and disturbing universes where nothing is what it seems and where reality and fiction mix and confuse.

Diptych” is therefore a unique stage experience where characters with extreme, acrobatic, and convulsed body movements develop within spaces from which they cannot escape. They started with an ideal and with the hope of the heart, but now they are forced to wander and untangle themselves in a mysterious and macabre labyrinth, not knowing what fate has in store for them.

Each part of the diptych evokes a film set, and the scene changes occur before the eyes of the audience. “The Missing Door” is set in a corridor full of doors that cannot be opened, while “The Lost Room” takes place inside the cabin of a ship.

The audience is thus transported to a parallel, almost horrific reality, reminiscent of the atmosphere of a film noir.
