Asolo Art Film Festival is the oldest art film festival in the world.
Its inception dates back to 1973. It is a showcase that explores the relationship between the world of audiovisuals and art. It is an important reference point for the quality and originality of works from all over the world. This year, there are 500 films entered into the competition from over 70 countries.
The categories in the competition are: Art Films, Art Documentaries, Anthropics, Prime Expressions, Video Art, and Animation. Many works present various genre hybridizations and developments of new languages. At the Duse Theatre in Asolo, from June 12 to 14, the films that have been selected will be screened, and the most significant of these will receive the various awards of the competition.
There will be several non-competitive screenings at the Duse Theatre and events distributed throughout the historic center: from the appointment at Villa Freya dedicated to the relationship between art and censorship, to the art exhibition and DJ set by Andy of Bluvertigo in the garden of the Castle of Caterina Cornaro, to other screenings, including European and world premieres, at the Beltramini Halls or under the Loggia della Ragione.
Various other collateral events will take place during the Festival, such as the conferral of the Duse Award to Lina Sastri.
