Back is A Mountain of Books which every summer transforms the Queen of the Dolomites into a meeting place for writers, readers, journalists, artists, and protagonists of contemporary thought.
From July 11 until the end of August, it will offer a rich calendar of meetings, dialogues, presentations, and moments of discussion that will bring to Cortina some of the most authoritative voices of Italian and international culture. A unique opportunity to experience literature outside conventional places, immersed in a natural setting of extraordinary beauty.
The 2026 edition opens with the announcement of the winners of the prestigious Cortina d'Ampezzo Prize. The main award has been given to Leonardo Colombati for No More Night (Mondadori), a gripping novel that traverses the twentieth century with a surprising alternative vision of history. The Cortina d'Ampezzo Mountain Prize goes to Wafaa Amer for I Am Wafaa (Solferino), an intense testimony of freedom, determination, and rebirth through a passion for climbing.
- The highlight of the event will be the awards ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Alexander Girardi Hall, when the audience will be able to meet the winning authors and hear the official reasoning of the juries.
