With the title Hymnus, from September 9 to October 2 2026, the tenth edition of In Principio, the festival of the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto dedicated to sacred music will take place. The 2026 program features four events dedicated to repertoires belonging to different periods and styles, ranging from Baroque music to the present day, in the context of a musical deepening inspired by specific themes of the Christian faith.
In Principio is promoted in collaboration with the Office for Liturgy of the Diocese of Padua and the parishes of the historic center, with the sponsorship of the Municipality of Padua, the Province of Padua, the media partnership of the diocesan weekly La Difesa del popolo, and with the support of the Cariparo Foundation, the Veneto Region, and the Ministry of Culture.
The X edition of In Principio will conclude with a special event designed to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis, in the Church named after the Saint, with a themed program.
All events of In Principio are free of charge until the available seats are exhausted.
