The Festival of the Two Cities returns to Cavallino-Treporti with an event dedicated to the meeting of different musical languages, under the theme “New Classical World”, which dialogues tradition and contemporaneity.
The protagonist will be Elisir Duo, consisting of Matteo Salerno on flute and Andrea Candeli on guitar. Their project traverses the history of pop and rock from the 1970s to the present, juxtaposing it with some masterpieces of classical music. Through original arrangements, pieces from seemingly distant eras and worlds find new points of contact, allowing melodies, nuances, and common suggestions to emerge.
This results in a concert capable of speaking to diverse audiences, where flute and guitar build a musical narrative made of references, contrasts, and affinities. It is an opportunity to listen to well-known repertoires from a new perspective and follow that thread that connects classical tradition to the expressive power of contemporary music.
