For the second edition of Serenissime Dimore, the Asolo Musica - Veneto Musica festival directed by Vincenzo De Vivo, which connects musical heritage with the architecture and history of the places that host it, Arco Amoroso Ensemble (Valentina Fin, soprano; Marta Fraccaroli, mezzo-soprano; Alberto Rassu and Marco Baratto, tenors; Luca Pasqualetto, baritone) presents “Between Word and Sound,” featuring music by Jacques Arcadelt, Maddalena Casulana, Luca Marenzio, Claudio Monteverdi, and Nicholas Yonge.
The program, dedicated to the polyphony and madrigal of the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries, finds a particular resonance with Villa di Maser, a Renaissance masterpiece by Andrea Palladio linked to the humanistic culture of the brothers Daniele and Marcantonio Barbaro and the frescoes by Paolo Veronese.
Poetic word, music, and visual arts thus lead back to the same cultural season, according to the dialogue between repertoire and venue that characterizes Serenissime Dimore.
Villa di Maser has been part of the UNESCO site “City of Vicenza and the Villas of Palladio in Veneto” since 1996.
