On the occasion of the European Heritage Days 2026, the Prisons Galleries of Treviso present for the first time to the public “Prisons Galleries | The Rediscovered Space”, a project developed by the students of the Graphics and Communication course at the “Andrea Palladio” State Technical Institute in collaboration with the Imago Mundi Foundation.
The project stems from the reflection on how a place originally intended for confinement can transform into a space of knowledge, memory, and participation. About twenty students engaged with the history and symbolic value of the former nineteenth-century prisons in Treviso, developing new ways to tell their story to a contemporary audience.
The path includes informative panels and video animations, created according to the principles of exhibit design and wayfinding, with attention to the clarity of information, accessibility, and the quality of the visitor experience. The contents also integrate historical research dedicated to the former prisons of Treviso.
During the event, the public can thus discover the building through new languages and storytelling methods, relating the memory of the place to the perspective of new generations.
