The historic center of Asolo will once again transform into an open-air theater for the II Edition of the Festival della Maschera, conceived and directed by director Alessio Nardin, featuring the participation of students from the Three-Year Course for Directors and Actors at the Eleonora Duse Academy - Experimental Center for Cinema and Performing Arts, in collaboration with the Asolo Mattinee association.
The event stems from Nardin's artistic conception and the support of the Municipality of Asolo, organized by Accademia Duse in collaboration with the Proloco of Asolo.
The festival combines popular theater with the search for a contemporary language.
- On February 15 at 10:45 am there will be a music concert with scenes from Commedia dell'Arte at Palazzo Beltramini, organized by Asolo Mattinee in collaboration with Accademia Duse.
In the afternoon, from 3:00 pm there will be a roaming performance “The Loves of the Comedians” throughout the center of Asolo featuring the masks of Commedia dell'Arte, where every space in Asolo can become a suggestive area and a natural stage: fantastic and amusing stories, inspired by the most famous works of W. Shakespeare, performed by the traditional masks of Commedia dell'Arte through the students of Accademia Duse.
- On February 17 from 3:00 pm at the Cornaro Loggia, a stage for Commedia dell'Arte will be set up where multiple comedic performances will take place featuring the masks of our tradition and the young student-actors of Accademia Duse.
An alternative and original Sunday and Fat Tuesday of Carnival to be experienced and shared in joy and carefree spirit for adults and children, without giving up on an important cultural value.
