Verona and Sondrio are preparing for the 2026 Winter Olympics not only with sports but also with art and culture, thanks to a partnership agreement between the two municipalities, through the project "The Sixth Circle".
The program includes events, performances, workshops, and meetings inspired by Olympic values, aiming to unite the Province of Sondrio, featuring Bormio and Livigno with numerous Olympic competitions, and Verona, which will host the closing ceremonies of the Olympics and the opening of the Paralympics.
The first performance of this journey is Randagio – you only lose when you give up, inspired by the life of Fulvio Valbusa and featuring Stefano Scherini, which will then debut for the general public on October 16 at the Teatro Camploy in Verona at 9 PM. In addition, some Olympic athletes and prominent national cultural figures will participate in meetings, Sporty Telling, designed to enrich the program with in-depth discussions, direct experiences, and moments of dialogue with the audience.
In 2026, between January and March, there will be the flash mob "Gran Paradiso" for the passage of the Olympic flame, the performance "Igloo," and the highly anticipated musical "Just Play It" by Battistoni-Scardoni-Scherini. Finally, between April and June 2026, the event series will conclude with "The Ladies of the Snow," the production of a documentary video, and an exhibition of posters created by the students of the Academy of Fine Arts.
