The Via dei Carraresi is a reenactment of vintage cycling and not a race, but a historical and landscape recreational event
The ciclostorica has reached its seventh edition and is dedicated to enthusiasts of vintage bicycles and cycling of the past. An event that combines sport, history, and discovery of the territory, enhancing the roads and landscapes of Alta Padovana and Vicentino.
The departure is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on September 6 from the historic center of Cittadella.
The route, approximately 60 kilometers long, is reserved for bicycles built before 1986 and passes through some of the most picturesque places in the area. After the start, participants will reach the Ponte Vecchio in Bassano del Grappa, where a refreshment stop with drinks and fruit is planned, before continuing towards the Rosina di Marostica and the Chiesetta del Ciclista. The itinerary will then touch Cartigliano and follow the dirt path along the Brenta riverbank in Tezze, before returning to Cittadella. The day will conclude in Campo della Marta with the final lunch, in a festive and sharing atmosphere.
The event invites a rediscovery of the charm of historical bicycles and the pleasure of cycling through a territory rich in history and scenic beauty.
Completing the program, starting Tuesday, September 2, there will be a display of historical bicycles in the church of Torresino, featuring a selection from Gianfranco Trevisan's collection, including bicycles, jerseys, and memorabilia that tell the story of international cycling.
The church will also host registrations and the distribution of race packages.
