The Great Desmontegada of Pedavena returns on October 3 and 4, 2026, with a weekend dedicated to the traditions of the Belluno mountains and the evocative rite of transhumance.
The event celebrates the return of animals from high-altitude pastures to the valley stalls, transforming an ancient moment of rural life into a festival that involves both locals and visitors. Amidst the aroma of mountain products, the sound of cowbells, and the mountain atmosphere, Pedavena will be lively with initiatives aimed at introducing and rediscovering the agricultural and gastronomic heritage of the area.
It will be an opportunity to meet local producers and artisans, taste cheeses, honey, and engage in the activities that have always characterized alpine life. There will also be moments dedicated to the animal world and traditional crafts, with workshops and activities related to milk processing, honey production, sheep shearing, and herb cultivation.
The event will also provide the chance to learn more about the century-old history of the Pedavena Brewery by offering guided tours of the facility. The most anticipated moment will, of course, be the Great Desmontegada, when the animals return to the valley accompanied by the characteristic jingling of cowbells.
An event that preserves the charm of tradition and that, year after year, allows people to experience the mountains through its flavors, knowledge, and people.
