An exhibition dedicated to the Aldo Allegranzi mineral collection, which the Naturalistic Archaeological Museum welcomed in 2023 from the family of Aldo Allegranzi (Vicenza, 1912-2002), a central figure in speleology and prehistoric research in Veneto in the twentieth century.
The approximately 500 samples that make up the collection are representative of a wide variety of minerals: from magnificent specimens from the Vicenza area, among which stand out a globular natrolite from Gambellara and a series of red quartzes from Campogrosso, to surprising samples (with aesthetic value) from different parts of the world.
The exhibition route allows visitors to retrace Allegranzi's collecting studies and, surrounded by a multitude of minerals, delve into the geology of Vicenza and the Euganean area and the strong connection that exists between mineralogy and humanity.
A central table allows visitors to touch the minerals and conduct observations and experiments, and through a touch screen panel they can also explore the digitized documentation. Additionally, stunning macro photographs highlight the characteristics of the crystals that would not be appreciated by the naked eye.
