The "Dear Juliet" award, which this year reaches its thirty-fourth edition, was created by the Juliet Club under the patronage of the Municipality of Verona, Cultural Department.
With the reading of the winning letters by Rossana Valier, Roberto Cassini, and Laura Di Nunno, along with music by Veronica Marchi, the stories of the four winners: Martina, Emily, Paolo, and Francesca will be unveiled. The evening will be presented by Elisabetta Gallina.
Juliet's Post has been part of Verona's history for many years. Since 1937, when the caretaker of Juliet's Tomb began to collect and respond to the first letters, signing as “The secretary of Juliet,” the phenomenon has grown exponentially. Thanks to the universality of the Shakespearean myth and the tireless work of Juliet's secretaries, there are now hundreds of thousands of letters preserved in the archives of the Juliet Club, a unique treasure of humanity in the world.
