In the Upper Astico Valley, where the water has carved the rock to form gorges, cascades and small pools, three loop trails invite you to discover the Pedemonte Waterfalls, in a landscape where nature blends with art. Among woods, ancient hamlets, the stream, and some of the most evocative waterfalls in the area, you will discover a project designed to enhance this corner of the Vicentine mountains, a slow tourism experience that is ideal both for those who want to walk among the greenery and those after a more challenging hike.

The experience is completed by the land art of Marco Martalar. Along the route you will encounter The Nest, a large installation made by weaving together over 2,500 roots recovered after the Vaia storm: an immersive work that welcomes you inside, inviting you to take a moment to observe the forest from a different perspective. A short distance away you will find The Dragon’s Egg, a second installation that reflects on the origin of life and the generative force of nature. Together, the two works transform the trail into an experience that goes beyond a simple hike, inviting you to ponder on the relationship between humans and the environment.
All itineraries start from the former Pedemonte Town Hall, where there is ample parking. The routes are signposted and can be accessed from spring to autumn; after heavy rainfall pay particular attention to the sections closest to watercourses, which can become slippery. Wear trekking shoes and bring water with you. Respect the environment and wildlife, follow the signs and do not leave rubbish along the route.
