Malga Longara in front boasts a unique panorama that overlooks the central basin of the Plateau. From the mountain that gives it its name, the territory of the malga extends to Val Salina, Val Croce Longara, and Mount Kaprust. The pastures, easily accessible, are vast green expanses in the central area, while groups of conifers characterize the Val Croce area. The CAI 850 trail passes through the malga, which climbs from Gallio to Malga Fiara, allowing access to the nearby altar dedicated to Pope John Paul II (who stopped in the Plateau in 1988 to bless Gallio and Asiago) and, with a short detour, to the Observatory of Mount Cimon. In the winter season, part of its pastures is involved in the skiing activities of the "LeMelette" ski area, while nearby are the trails of the Campomulo Cross-Country Center.
The malga is part of the Melken project by the Veneto Region, which includes studies for the protection of livestock from wolf attacks.
