The Valle Imperina Mining Centre, located in the municipality of Rivamonte Agordino (BL), in the heart of the Belluno Dolomites, is an important part of Italy's historical industrial heritage, as a testimony to mining activity that lasted almost six centuries. This site, once a hub for copper mining and processing, has undergone several historical phases, in a shift from pillar of the local mining industry to an almost forgotten area.
Today the Valle Imperina Mining Centre is open all year round and offers guided tours to explore the 3 recently renovated and inspected tunnels, the melting furnaces (the only ones still existing in Europe), and the periodic exhibitions.
The Centre also offers visits and educational workshops for students and teachers.
Finally, inside the Centre you can enjoy traditional local dishes and spend the night in a hotel or hostel.
Booking is required for guided tours and educational workshops.
Possibility of catering and overnight stays.
The Centre can be reached by regional road SR203 Belluno-Agordo, in Le Campe, with parking near the historic locomotive located along the road. It is also possible to reach the Centre from the road that starts from Ponte Alto
