Belluno Dolomites
There is a destination where your gaze suddenly lifts and remains there, suspended between majestic peaks and clear skies – a region that is not merely attractive, but one that surprises, welcomes and moves you. Here, nature takes centre stage; simply leave your car behind and explore on foot, leaving the noise behind to find yourself amidst silent pastures, dense woods, sheer cliffs and unique landscapes; but it is not just about the views: it is the atmosphere, the strong identity of each valley, the way in which culture, history and traditions intertwine with the environment: welcome to the Belluno Dolomites.
Five areas stretch right to the border, and no two are alike, each with its own unique character: Arabba–Marmolada, with legendary mountain passes and the thrill of coming within touching distance of the highest peak in the Dolomites; Cadore–Tre Cime–Comelico, where you can discover the character of authentic villages and iconic peaks; Cortina d’Ampezzo, synonymous with elegance and adventure, featuring international events and modern facilities; Valbelluna, where meadows, castles and small villages rich in history and nature make it the green gateway to the Dolomites; Zoldo–Falcade–Alleghe, the most welcoming and authentic heart of the Dolomites, with dense forests and strong traditions.
In this extraordinary region, nature and the landscape are a heritage to be experienced with respect. Here you will find two iconic parks: the Belluno Dolomites National Park, wild and little-visited, and the Ampezzo Dolomites Nature Park, with its forests, sheer cliffs and breathtaking views. A landscape so unique that it has been recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, not only for its beauty, but for the history that these mountains hold and recount.
The right season? There isn’t one! In winter, you can ski, walk in the snow and breathe in the silence; in spring, colours burst forth and you return to the trails; summer is the time for long hikes, via ferratas and fresh air; autumn is a golden wonder, made up of forests shedding their leaves. The Belluno Dolomites await you, all year round.
